This can work to make either of these types of sets one that can create some of the most beautiful images for one's television viewing experience.

However, each of these sets will feature their own problems with these pixels. It is a good idea to consider these problems before buying one of these sets. This is so a person can know what to possibly expect with either a plasma television set or an LCD TV set.

There is always the possibility of an LCD set dealing with ghosting. This is a case where a double image can be found on a set. It occurs when the pixels on the set begin to pick up multiple input signals at the same time. This can cause a substantial amount of motion blur. This is something that can be caused when a set is not receiving images properly.

Another concern about pixels in an LCD set involves what can happen when an image is on the screen for too much time. A static image that stays on the screen for a while will cause the pixels to have build-ups in their charges. This will keep the pixels from getting into their normal forms. A case where something like this can happen is known as a retained pixel charge. This is something that can cause ghosting to appear on an LCD set.

The inability of the pixels to retain their normal levels can cause image sticking to occur as well. This is where faint outlines of some images can be seen on a set even after the television displays a different image.

Meanwhile, many plasma television sets can be put at risk of being damaged by still images. Plasma sets can deal with burn-in images. This is where the same images will be stuck on the display of the set. This is caused by the same phosphors in the pixels that are being used to work with a static image that is on the set for a long period of time. The phosphors will be burned to where they are not going to be able to display the proper colors in certain parts of the screen.

Plasma sets are generally not recommended for display images like LCD sets are. This is why an LCD set is more likely to be seen at an airport displaying arrival and departure times than a plasma set. However, some of today's plasma sets have featured some unique technologies like the pixel orbiter feature. This works to get pixels to move quickly around the set, thus preventing burn-in cases. Not all sets have this feature though.
